ABOUT OPERNFEST PRAGUE
The mission of OFP is to create a uniquely individualized experience, focused on the technical, stylistic and dramatic details that become the differentiators in international casting.
In our experience, most young opera singers present good ‘student work’, but these skills don’t always translate to the stage, particularly when the opportunities for productions are limited. What differentiates OFP Fellows in Houses, is focus on details which attract the attention of both casting professionals and audiences internationally.
OFP is the only program of its kind where singers have the potential to be offered house contracts directly from their fest participation.
By isolating and then combining these three elements, superior artistry and stylistically nuanced performances are brought to the stage.
Opernfest Prague’s unique training model addresses the multifaceted needs of international soloists; centrally focused on individualized instruction. All Voice Fellows work 1:1 with a stage director, conductor and language consultant on their solo repertoire.
All of OFP’s Faculty are actively engaged at the National Theater Prague, and each speaks a minimum of three languages fluently. OFP does not engage ANY teaching assistants, student teachers, or retired industry personnel.
